Classes for Florists

Hello Floralpreneur®! I just wrapped up my 23rd wedding season and while I’d love to say that I’m about to kick back and relax or that I popped the cork on a bottle of bubbly and boasted of my successful season, that’s not the truth! Because this is actually the time of year when I kick into a different gear where I’m designing less, but I am teaching a lot more!

Here are 3 classes I have coming up for florists of all experience levels:

Nov. 11–Business Planning & Strategy Session

Consider this a 4th quarter Planning and Strategy Session to regroup and refocus your efforts for 2025 and beyond. All members of my Patreon Community are invited to join this private Zoom call at 12pm Eastern (or catch a replay later).

To join this training, become a Patreon supporter here. (You’ll also find a ton of great tips and trainings waiting for you inside the Patreon “vault” of lessons.)

Dec. 3-5–Marketing Workshop for Florists

Waitlist Open! This has been one of my most popular and well attended live-virtual trainings over the last several years. Registration will be open next week. You can get on the notification list here to be the first to know when doors are open! (There’s no obligation to buy, this is just an interest list!)

In the 3-Day training we’ll cover:

  • 3 Marketing Mistakes Florists Are Making
  • Why A More Intentional Marketing Strategy Will Help You Work Smarter In Every Aspect of Your Business
  • 7 Tips To Refresh Your Website
  • 4 Steps To Level-up Your Branding So You Can Close Sales More Easily With Ideal Clients
  • AND I’ll address your questions LIVE!

If you’re posting on social media without a plan or strategy, THIS live-virtual workshop is for you!

Jan. 7, 14, 21, 28–The Art of Good Business

I’ve been teaching this month-long program with live support since 2017 and there is no other business program like this for florists available. From the bones of your business plan to your ideal customer journey and your overall brand identity, we work together in a small group coaching environment to bring clarity and purpose to your business in the new year.

Doors open in early December! Details coming soon.

So if any of these classes are of interest to you, I’d be honored to have you join me for one or ALL of these trainings. They are intended to help you finish the year strong AND start out in the new year feeling focused and clear on where to put your efforts.

Because effort alone won’t get you to your goals! That’s where a good plan and strategy can help.

As always, if you ever have a question for me, just get in touch! I also offer 1:1 coaching if you need help with something specific in your business/life.

Keep doing beautiful work!

Owning A Flower Business

How do you stay accountable as a business owner?

If you own your business, you know there’s a lot to manage if you want to be successful and profitable, but what steps do you take to actually keep yourself on track and avoid time-wasting activities?

In this month’s livestream, I talked about strategies to stay motivated and accountable (or help to get back on track!).

When you watch, you’ll get a few rules I try to follow in my business (based on 22 years of experience), and I’ll address a question I received recently regarding “how much money a florist makes”. (You can also see a few highlights timestamped below!)

Topic Highlights:

How Do You Stay Accountable As A Business Owner? 00:00

Introduction/Welcome 03:25

What Does Accountability Look Like? 04:15

Steps To Create Accountability 04:56

Social Media Moderation 14:43

Social Media Prompts vs Complaints 19:48

Final Two Tips & Recap 20:46

How Much Money Does A Florist Make? 29:24

What Do You Do With Vases After An Event? 35:24

Staying Accountable From Here 37:44

Thanks for making time to watch today and for holding yourself accountable in your own business! If you ever need a business boost, I’m here to help! Whether that be with monthly trainings as a member on Patreon, inside one of my online business courses, or in 1:1 coaching.

Keep doing beautiful work and keep yourself accountable so you can get the results you’re aiming for in your business and your life!

Real Flower Business Courses Are Moving

We’re Moving! No, I’m not moving out of Vermont, but I’m moving my online business courses to a brand new site!

This is a big move–and one that I’ve been putting off for a long time now! So I’m very excited to invite you to check out the new site HERE.

Flower Math is the first course I ever made, so it’s only natural that it would be the first course to find a new home on the new site!

Existing Flower Math Students will be granted access to the new course platform–so if you’re already enrolled in Flower Math check your email for a Flower Math Course Login (and don’t forget to check your spam or promotions folder just in case it lands there by mistake!).

Below you’ll see a quick tour of the new course layout so you can easily find your way around as soon as you log in!

As always, if you have any questions, you can reach me at my new email address: info@realflowerbusiness.com

Announcing 3 Upcoming Workshops!

  • Dec. 5, 6, 7th I’ll be teaching a 3-Day Live Virtual Marketing Workshop for Florists! If you’d like some common sense marketing tips for florists and you want to know when registration is open, CLICK HERE to get on the notification list.

  • In January 2023, I’ll be teaching my group coaching program, The Art of Good Business, a 4-week course for floralpreneurs who want to take their marketing and branding to the next-level, and registration will open Dec. 7th–so stay tuned for details or subscribe to the Marketing Workshop List (above) for info!

  • I’ll be teaching LIVE IN PERSON in April–right here in Vermont!–along with world renowned instructor, Françoise Weeks, and Phebe Robinson of Popped With Phebe!

In this 2-Day Live Workshop in April, florists will get to create sustainable woodland centerpieces and jewelry with Françoise, learn how to add an income stream to your home-studio or flower farm by running a profitable pop-up shop with Phebe, and get practical business advice with Alison targeted to your specific questions so you can maximize profits and attract more great customers. Registration details for the live workshop will be coming soon!…it’s going to be SO good!

Thanks so much for stopping by my site today AND for your support and patience as we make this switch to a new site.

With love from me to you,

Alison

How Should Florists Set A Minimum

I’ve heard a lot of questions from florists about Setting Minimums (and raising minimums!) lately, which is why I was live today on Instagram to talk about How Florists Should Set A Minimum in their business. You can catch the replay from Instagram below!

Whether you already have a minimum or you’re just figuring out how to establish a minimum, this chat is for YOU!

Here’s what’s covered:

➤Why Florists Need A Minimum

➤How To Determine A Minimum For Your Business

➤How To Communicate A Minimum To Customers

Fact: Setting a Minimum isn’t a strategy to “attract customers”; it is meant to help weed people out! And adding a minimum to your website isn’t enough.

That’s why it’s important to understand WHAT your minimum is and HOW to present it to your clients.

I hope you’ll enjoy the replay AND I really hope you’ll sign up HERE for the Free Pricing Chat for Florists on Oct. 13th with 3 Numbers Florists Need To Know!

If you have any questions for me, feel free to get in touch!

xo. -Alison
